A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
